'MS, 산타로 변신?' 메신저 봇 화제

마이크로소프트(MS)가 산타(?)로 변신했다. 물론 ‘굴뚝’을 타고 오는 산타가 아니라 ‘메신저’를 통한 만남이다.

MSN은 ‘산타는 온라인(Santa's Online, http://santaonmessenger.com)’이란 웹사이트를 개설하고 산타클로스와 실시간 대화를 할 수 있는 메신저 서비스를 제공하기 시작했다. MS는 산타클로스가 사용하는 블로그(http://santaonspaces.spaces.live.com)도 개설했다. 물론 이 곳에서 답변해주는 상대방은 ‘메신저 봇’ 시스템으로 실제 산타클로스는 아니다.

MS 공식 자료에 따르면 윈도 라이브 메신저 사용자들은 ‘northpole@live.com’이란 e메일 주소로 친구 등록을 하면 대화를 나눌 수 있다. 현재 영어로만 대화가 가능하다.

한편 크리스마스 이브에 ‘NORAD 산타 트랙커(http://www.noradsanta.org)’를 이용하면 산타의 가상 위치를 온라인을 통해 실시간으로 확인할 수 있다. 이 서비스에도 MS 온라인 지도 서비스인 ‘버추얼 어스’가 사용될 예정이다.
